What are the chances of Pi Network burning PI tokens?

Simply put, Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) has little chance of running an extensive $PI burn program.

The official token economics limit supply to 100 billion tokens: 65% from community mining, 20% from the core team, 10% from the foundation, and 5% for liquidity.

Pioneers have asked the core team to consider this, citing that it will inflate prices and strengthen the coin.

However, supply is controlled through mining halving, KYC that cuts unverified supply, lockup periods, and small fees (0.01 PI per transaction) that may reduce circulating tokens.

Also worth noting that no phase has involved burns since the Open Network launched in February 2025.
