Transparency? You never told Illinoisans there would be victims of your "welcoming" and sanctuary policies. You sold them as all upside, with no tradeoffs.

Fairness? Katie never got a second chance. She's in a grave that I visit and tend to, while the man who killed her received a plea deal after being allowed back into our country following a prior deportation.

Safety? My 20-year-old daughter Katie was killed by an intoxicated illegal immigrant who was driving with an Illinois driver's license obtained under a false identity.
His false identities are now the subject of a pending federal indictment.

You can sign all the legislation you want, Governor, but you can't rewrite the consequences of the policies your administration championed.

Your legacy isn't defined only by the bills you sign, it's also defined by the innocent lives your policies failed to protect.

Thirty states have now committed to ending the "orphan tax"—the practice of using foster children's Social Security survivor and disability benefits to offset the cost of their care.

Additionally, 25 states have agreed to support Fostering the Future Accounts.  These accounts will help foster youth save, build financial security, and prepare for adulthood.

Every state, whether led by Republicans or Democrats, should support America’s foster children.
