Applications are now open for the 2026 CMPA Indiescreen Awards, which celebrate the very best in Canadian independent film and television production. $50,000 in prizes will be awarded across three categories:
🎬 Feature Film Producer Indiescreen Award – $20,000 (in partnership with Telefilm Canada)
📺 TV Producer Indiescreen Award – $20,000 + up to 5 passes to Prime Time 2027 (in partnership with Canada Media Fund)
⭐ Kevin Tierney Emerging Producer Indiescreen Award – $10,000 (open to feature film, series, and short form series producers)
📅 Deadline to apply: Friday, June 19, 2026

We're proud to announce the winners of the 2025 CMPA Indiescreen Awards, which celebrate excellence in Canadian independent media production.
Frantic Films, headed by Jamie Brown O.M. received the inaugural TV Producer Award, presented in partnership with Canada Media Fund | Fonds des médias du Canada.
Paula Devonshire was named the recipient of the Feature Film Producer Award, presented in partnership with Telefilm Canada.
Leena Minifie was awarded the Kevin Tierney Emerging Producer Award.

The 30th edition of the CMPA's Prime Time conference was a huge success, attracting a record attendance of nearly 1000 industry leaders in media production, broadcasting, feature film, television and media policy over three days of panels, workshops, networking and unprecedented market access opportunities.
