I remember first hearing this song playing over the sound system in a pub in Kinsale. It was so beautiful that I went straight out to buy the album. No one brought out the goosebumps like Sinèad. This is Sinèad with the Chieftains #FactoryGirl https://t.co/0LOEI31tJX
Sinéad O'Connor - I Am Stretched on Your Grave (Official Audio) https://t.co/uJBIBE4epU via @YouTube
I was lucky enough to see her once, in the back room of a Boston music bar after hours. She stood up on a table—she was tiny and she was massive—and sang to us in Irish. RIP
A great Irish poet and singer left us today.
She was beautiful, courageous and wore her heart on her sleeve. She was before her time.
Nothing will ever compare to Sinéad O’Connor.
Rest easy Sinéad.
How great is this gift? Author @LisaCareyWrites sent us pictures of the graphic novel her son Liam illustrated for her birthday, based on the Emily Dickinson poem "'Hope' is the thing with feathers."
@LibraryThing JD Salinger, Dostoyevsky, Ann Patchett, Pat Conroy, LM Montgomery, CS Lewis. There are more, but I’d like to keep the dinner party small and lively.
@librarythingtim The lapsed Catholic in me agrees that it’s kind of horrible. But it’s almost more honest to embrace the horror and misery, than it is to don pastel hats and sing about the crucifixion as if it was as innocuous as the Easter bunny. I mean, if you believe in any of that.
My friend was on the TV show "Chopped" tonight AND SHE WON!!! SHE WON!!! Everyone come to @FiggysTakeout in Portland, Maine. It has the best fried chicken.
