Exciting changes at #FortLauderdale's DC Alexander Park! It's being transformed into a vibrant beach spot, with an elevated section for ocean views, new playground, improved lighting, and more. Enhancing our world-class city's beauty. Completion expected by mid-2024. #WeAreFTL
I'm elated to hear that @WhiteHouse senior advisor on infrastructure, @MitchLandrieu, just singled out #FortLauderdale and our city's dogged efforts to reconnect our communities and break down racial and economic barriers through innovative transportation infrastructure. During today's WH press conference, Mr. Landrieu specifically referenced my goal to no longer keep Fort Lauderdale divided by a railroad crossing by implementing an underground tunnel for commuter rail service to get across the New River.
When Mr. Landrieu was in Fort Lauderdale touring our neighborhoods impacted by last month's flooding, I showed him our unique position to benefit from federal financial support through the #ReconnectingCommunities program created by the Department of Transportation, @SecretaryPete.
