April 21 marks what would have been the 100th birthday of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her late Majesty devoted more than seven decades to public service, including 70 years as Canada’s Monarch; the longest reign in Canadian history.
@anniedufour99@RoyalFamily Unfortunately in a constitutional monarchy the King acts on the advice of his Prime Ministers. He came to Canada last year to open Parliament because Carney invited him. He is going to the USA because the UK PM wants him to go. It does make me sick though!
I am disappointed with the decision by the Israeli police to prevent the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Christian Communities of the Holy Land from marking Palm Sunday at the Holy Sepulchre.
These actions further violate the longstanding status quo of Jerusalem’s Holy Sites.
People of every faith in Jerusalem should be able to worship freely, fully, and without fear. I am pleased that President Herzog has contacted the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to reaffirm this.
"How dare you call us fascists just because our appointees threaten government retaliation against broadcast networks if their comedians don't say what we want them to say."
Australian fire crews are on their way to support their Canadian colleagues battle wildfires in Alberta.
These contingents build on our proud cooperation under the 🇦🇺🇨🇦 MOU on emergency management. More importantly, it’s what friends do.
Stay safe everyone

"King Charles III delivered a subtle message to President Trump in Canada’s Parliament: The country already has a king.
Charles, Canada's King, said Canada is firmly self-determining, rebuking Trump’s suggestion that it join the U.S." 👑🍁

Haida title is clear. Instead of fighting in courts, we have worked together with the Council of the Haida Nation to move toward reconciliation & start addressing historical wrongs.
Both BC United & BC Conservatives voted against this bill & against reconciliation.
There's no contradiction between acknowledging the worrying growth in antisemitism and the open, bleeding wound that is Palestinian injustice. In fact, it's important to be intensely aware of and outspoken about both.
“We have a very strong supporter in King Charles. He wants to engage Canadians & improve the relationship with Indigenous peoples. The commitment is there, & he talked about this with the three [Canadian Indigenous] leaders before his coronation.” - Governor General Simon 🇨🇦
The relentless bombardment of hospitals and civilians in Gaza is intolerable. It’s against international humanitarian law - it must stop and stop now. The misuse of hospitals by Hamas does not justify attacks by Israel. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
The situation facing staff and patients in Gaza’s hospitals is catastrophic. Everything must be done to restore its healthcare system and protect those in desperate need.
I pray especially for the courageous staff and the patients of the Anglican-run Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
Please hold our Anglican sisters and brothers, and all the civilians of Gaza, in your prayers.
