Infelizmente ele escolheu a pessoa errada….
My Mum died ten years ago today (June 7th, 2016). A few hours after she died I was sitting alone in the house, deeply upset as you can imagine, when I had the strangest experience. An intense tingling that went quickly from my toes, up through my body and out through my head. It only lasted a few seconds but it left me with a feeling of absolute peace and calm. I have always believed that was my Mum. A final, parting gift, letting me know she was okay. It made the unbearable bearable. I have no belief in a God or a Heaven, I am not spiritual in any way, but I believe that moment. Miss you Mum. Xxxxx
I keep thinking about @MRMIKEYGRAHAM from Boyzone.
When the documentary came out, I remember seeing the pain in his eyes. It was a look I recognised straight away. The kind of pain that doesn’t need words.
For some reason, I felt compelled to reach out to him. He didn’t know me from Adam, yet he took the time to reply. That small act of kindness has always stayed with me.
I’ve seen some of the photos and clips from the Boyzone shows this weekend, and it genuinely made me smile to see him getting his moment. His light. His stage.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I still see that same pain in his eyes at times. Mikey has spoken openly about his mental health struggles, and I really hope these shows have brought him something positive. Some closure. Some peace. Maybe even the chance to finally move forward carrying a little less weight than before.
The truth is, I’m not even a massive Boyzone fan. Yet I’ve always found myself rooting for him.
What I do know is this. The comments about his appearance, his weight, or whether he “looked the part” completely miss the point.
Getting on that stage at all took courage.
Standing in front of thousands of people when you’ve openly battled your mental health is no small thing. It doesn’t matter whether it was three songs or thirty. Sometimes just showing up is the victory.
That deserves respect, not criticism.
I doubt he’ll ever see this, and he certainly doesn’t need me defending him. But people who carry their struggles publicly while still finding the strength to keep going deserve a bit more kindness from the rest of us.
Well done, Mikey. I think a lot of people are quietly proud of you.
When I was pregnant with our second child, her test for Down syndrome was positive. My husband and I discussed it for about 2 minutes. We are Catholic so there was no consideration to abort her. We just knew our lives would change. We bought books, spoke to parents of Down syndrome children, and prayed.
When she was born, she did not have Down syndrome, to our surprise. The test was wrong. Tests are often wrong, we later learned. In fact, 10% of positive NIPT results for Down syndrome are false positives.
Our daughter just finished her second year of law school and has thrived. She is my best friend and I don't know how I could be whole without her.
By brother suffers from Cerebral Palsey. He just turned 50 but is really about 12, mentally. We love him so.
They are both gifts.
Everyone has to make their own decision, and only God can judge, but taking a life purposefully with the rationale that they may not be perfect makes no sense to me, but that's just me.
Admittedly, the post below made me sad. Oh what they may have missed out on no matter the outcome.

This is Rebecca Goodwin
She was raped. She reported it. She even handed in a 7 minute recording of her sexual assault. Police said it was insufficient evidence.
Fearing he would target others, she exposed the man publicly. Out of fear, he handed himself in and was remanded.
But on appeal, he was released. He is now bailed until a court date in 2027.
Rebecca has been failed. Women across this country are failed daily. We ask why women don’t report? This is why.
Violence against women is a pandemic, nationally and locally. #EndDomesticAbuse
He coveted and then he killed her, according to authorities.
I can't believe he is able to walk free still.
Rape and murder should not equal freedom.
He is being tried as an adult.
Another infuriating decision by a judge.

I stand with Katie.
5 incidents in 5 days. I left the court with 2 stitches and a bruised knee. Thankfully, it wasn’t worse.
Do we really have to wait until a player is seriously injured before these courtside boards are removed?
Player safety must come first.
