Grand National day.

For us that live and breathe horse racing, this day can be an emotional roller coaster. Excitement, nerves, frustration, upset, elation, relief.

In amongst all of it, don't forget one key truth. The annual rabble-rousers will fire their shots at our sport in pursuit of cheap publicity again, but by tomorrow morning the vast majority of them will have moved on to something else until next year.

We'll still be here, caring for and loving our horses and our sport every day.

Top boss, genuine and respected in equal measures. Has been my surrogate dad at times though laughter, tears and tantrums. Gave me the best times in my racing life. Boss enjoy an easier, less stressful time. Harry look after him. Maybe see you racing a bit more?
