@SummrWrites I like my dog very much… he’s a loyal companion and we enjoy his company but he’s not a person so when we leave he stays home… when we vacation he’s goes to a wonderful boarding facility that treats him well. He’s not one of our children.. he’s our favored pet!!
There seems to be a lot of confusion & backlash, especially from the Christian community, about Kid Rock‘s performance during TPUSA‘s All-American Halftime Show.
I believe I can clear things up…
Kid Rock started his set by performing “Bawitdaba”, which came out in 1999. It a vulgar song, referencing topless dancers, drinking, crooked cops, bastards, etc. Hearing that was a shock to a lot of us. Rightfully so. It felt worldly, which I believe was the point…
Next, there was an acoustic set with two people playing a Christian hymn. It was meant to be an emotional bridge to what came next…
Finally, it transitioned to Kid Rock, his stage name, being introduced back to the stage as Robert Ritchie, his birth name. He then played a revised version of “Til’ You Can’t”, which included lyrics about Jesus Christ. He also spoke about Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, encouraged people to follow Christ, and to read their Bibles.
This was supposed to be an artistic way of portraying a redemption story.
I don’t know Kid Rock’s walk with Christ, but he used this moment to point people to Christ, and I rejoice in that (Philippians 1:15-18)
My dear American friends,
We British Christians would get excited when, once a year, Queen Elizabeth would make a mild but sincere reference to the love of Jesus Christ in her Christmas address.
In Charlie Kirks' Memorial service, watched by tens of millions, I just heard:
- Multiple clear presentations of the gospel from men like @robmccoyus and @DrFrankTurek with clear calls to repentance and faith
- Worship songs full of Scripture sung by tens of thousands live and millions at home
- Personal testimonies of lives transformed by the work of Christ and the witness of believers
- Demonstration and explanation of the value of marriage, child-rearing and family
- Calls to Romans 13 for the government to bear the sword for the protection of good and punishment of the wicked
- Declarations of spiritual warfare on the forces of evil and promises to endure no matter the cost
- Calls to be prophets and call the nation to repent
- More Scripture references and Bible readings than I can count
- And a widow publicly forgiving her husband's killer because Christ forgave his killers on the cross.
All of it done before, and by, the most powerful people in your nation and the world.
You guys should be on your knees thanking God for your country. It is a light to the world.
Never stop fighting for it.
Whenever you’re discouraged, remember that millions of people around the world today heard these words at Charlie’s memorial:
“He’s the King of glory, He’s the Prince of Peace, He’s the Savior of the world, He’s the living God, He’s the God of all mercy and grace, the total embodiment of love, the total embodiment of truth. And He’s here today to call His children back to Him.” Rob McCoy
“Charlie, right now, is in heaven. Not because he was a great husband & father…. Not because he sacrificed himself for his Savior. Charlie Kirk is in heaven, because his Savior sacrificed himself for Charlie Kirk” Frank Turek
“Christ has overcome death!” Andrew Kolvet
“What we’ve known for 2,000 years is that any attempt at trying to extinguish the light makes it shine more brightly.” Tucker Carlson
“We were all created by the hands of the God of the universe, who loved us created us to live with Him in eternity. But then sin entered the world and separated us from our Creator. So God took on the form of a man and came down and lived among us, and He suffered like men, and He died like a man. But on the third day He rose unlike any mortal man… And when He returns, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth, and we are going to have a great reunion there again with Charlie” Sec. Marco Rubio
“Put Christ at the center of your life.” Pete Hegseth
“I have talked more about Jesus in the past two weeks [since Charlie died] than I have in my entire public life.” JD Vance
“On the cross, our Savior said: ‘Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.’ That young man [who murdered Charlie]: I forgive him.” Erika Kirk
Praise God!
Crown him with many crowns,
the Lamb upon his throne.
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless king
through all eternity.
