I’m seeing that argument used to defend Stephanie White’s reluctance to challenge questionable calls involving Caitlin Clark.

Sorry. That makes it worse.

Challenge it.

Make the officials watch it again.

Make them formally rule that this is their definition of illegal contact.

Then send the film to the WNBA after the game. Again. And again. And again.

Build the record.

Because if Indiana genuinely believes Caitlin Clark is being officiated under a different standard, quietly accepting it guarantees absolutely nothing changes.

Your job as head coach includes protecting your players.

Sometimes that means drawing up the next possession.

Sometimes it means making the league defend the indefensible.
