@pauljholden @jp_jordan Essentially, help him to get as much exposure as possible to the "real deal" and he'll pick up on a ton of stuff himself. He might very well be able to tell you exactly what he wants to learn more. I know I did at his age.

@pauljholden @jp_jordan There are also certain angles and ways of pacing. Maybe help him sort through his own manga and anime and make lists of that stuff, help him make his own reference book. I think that might be more "complete" than any single htdm book and he can look at "original" Japanese art.

How to decide which idea to write next:

- Write the idea you know the ending for.
- Write the idea you wake up thinking about.
- Write the idea with the strongest characters & theme.
- Write the idea you can stand to work on for months/years.
- Write the idea only you can write.
