I am a writer and an artist. I studied biological psychology in college and I published a book called "Emotional Back-draft". I love to paint and sketch.
As a "neuropsychology" major I took 3 years of graduate level brain biology coursework despite the fact that I have no PhD behind my name, I am confident that my daughter will achieve that goal. My motivation for understanding my own illness cannot be "bought" as it's intrinsic.
I look at who follows me here on Twitter, because as a 51 year old woman who lives in a persistent "mixed state" of bipolar thoughts/ emotions I believe that my life story can teach many important details. However, as an American I prefer that the most apt doctors listen & learn.
@ReverendWarnock Reverend Warnock, I thank you for doing hard work and aspiring for a "Better America," where racism cannot happen within ANY profession, especially policing. However, racism reaches so wide that as a world we must acknowledge aggression based upon skin color across all history.
When I start "organizing" my daily writing into what strikes me as poignant versus average content I notice that I actually produced some amazing material. With my bipolar proclivities I tend to paint my emotions, I do a "sketch diary" and poetry as well. This helps me immensely.
I took a "Twitter vacation" to focus my energy on appreciating the beautiful transition of winter into spring. As soon as birdsong began again in my waking hours my heart filled with Joy and I started running without headphones on. I also worked on physical therapy to help pain.
@funder Yes! I chose the Pfizer vaccine which became available to me around April 4th. I had to travel a bit so I scheduled for the 15th. The clinic was extremely efficient with commendable staff. I have many drug sensitivities, but it went well and no one should be afraid of the shot.
@CAFalk This is true, & hate crimes made city police work more challenging. The Trump/cop connection isn't there for all police I assure you. The media exacerbates public fears by showing too much violence. If "murder" gets NEWS coverage then criminals kill for ATTENTION. It's very real.
@pranavrajpurkar@HarvardDBMI@harvardmed Congrats to you amazing Sir! Many years ago I knew an extremely intelligent man who could probably help, but surely he's busy. Then again, I dearly love the State of Minnesota, so I shouldn't let you take talent from those amazing biotech companies there. Go Edina/Eden Prairie!
@petermontiel_@paumontielg_ Thank you for following me! Je N'oblie pas beaucoup des mots Francais, mais Je voudrais comprendre tout des jour. Did I massacre that? It's fine to laugh, because I refuse to use digital translation :)
@CAFalk Of course Russia studied America as well as the psychology of our culture plus the entire history of our country. In fact, as a person who has traveled the world a bit, every other nation knows US History better than our own voters! It's both sad & bad.
I am avoiding social media to CALM DOWN after all of my progressive activism. I don't want to see insults daily in TWEETS anymore... but I thought of ONE amusing word which sums up a lot of those who insult others: "DWEEB." Lol... @DanRather how do you interpret THAT word?
@luckmraz Does that mean "new attitude?"-- I am SO THRILLED that Jason's (fan club) LIKED a Tweet of mine! Jason Mraz helped me learn to rap :) I actually get my guitar and keyboard out after watching you Jason... it's such an honor. The "im/promp-t'ou" singing is amazing! Love it!
Someone liked my comment about running my stress out because even after the election America has an issue with White Pride. These "Proud Boys" should just run off their angst like me, and maybe they do! America needs an attitude adjustment: honor our diversity.
@Snoopy Actually, I am about to enjoy a cold winter run, and it's so much better than all the shoveling I've been stuck with recently. I'm so glad to see you posted here my beloved Beagle, and I need to WRITE my book. Thanks for the reminder paired with a Charles Schultz smile.
@farronbalanced LMAO that man made many serious Trumpist's . These folks display dedication to the curse of toxic thought patterns proliferated by these extreme and addicting radio personalities. Thank heavens my sister preferred to tune in to NPR as a better alternative.
@SaraSuliman13 @MyBioTechniques Sara, I don't know the inexcusable hostility and disregard being Black brings to the table, but mental illness carries a cruel stigma too. I know being White I may be received better, but many people don't want to deal with the complexity of heightened emotions or extra thoughts.
@DrNiiAddy@MyBioTechniques I feel like inherent qualities of character, integrity, or being approachable aren't considered valuable. In corporate settings max output for profit matters more than the unique contributions individuals bring. Black people suffer critical prejudice from closed minds & hearts.
@SaraSuliman13 @MyBioTechniques I agree! I go out of my way to watch scientific discussions which intrigue me. Truth be told I see mostly white men, and sometimes their arrogance makes me stop watching. I want to see equal representation, and amazing Black Minds & Souls are often more kind, humble, & authentic.
@MyBioTechniques@gsiwo @SaraSuliman13 @DrNiiAddy@EstOdek@yyalipende In my own life, the perspective I live by is that the more gifts, talents, or blessings God gives the more responsibility one has to give back to others. It's tempting to want to quit, but never giving up, and fighting for what matters most always provides fulfilment.
