Just got an email from my #EdD supervisor who said that “it’s inspiring to work with you”... and then I 😭😭😭 ... having an amazing supervisor is the reason I’ve lasted this long #Grateful
Two important lessons I learned in my twenties:
- If you think everyone hates you, you probably need to sleep.
- If you think you hate everyone, you probably need to eat.
Another great #teachermoment from last week:
Student (who knows I’m working on my dissertation): 👋 when will you be finished your dissertation?
me: 🙃🙄🙃
Student: I’m just really excited to call you Dr. Lisa.
Me:
Yesterday, one of my students told me that they used to be scared of delivering presentations in front of the class until they took my course.
And, that now they *like* delivering presentations in front of the class.
And then I melted into a ball of jello. #TeacherLife #👩🏻🏫
Working precariously in higher education is particularly tough in October.
After a long week - 12 and 14 hour days every day - I’m finally home for the weekend.
My best friend, the #Brodster, hasn’t taken his eyes off me since I got home #😍 #🥰
I’m feeling incredibly fortunate to have this community, the #chickadees, the 2015 #EdD cohort @ubc. I never would have imagined how much my life would change when I began this program. I’m feeling re-energized and motivated to finish that darn dissertation! #dissertating #👩🏻💻📚📝
