Serial volunteer working with kids and parents, occasionally paid. Just because I follow you there's no need to follow me. We'd only go round in circles.
The results are in after our students recently took part in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge...🥁🥁🥁
A huge congratulations to the 29 students who achieved GOLD (which is over 25% of our total students!) What a fantastic result 🎉
@louisetickle My son is on a such a trip at the moment. State school. We had nearly 2 years notice and a payment plan. It's not part of the curriculum as there's no way all the GCSE Geography classes could go. Wonderful experience for him as we could not go as a family.
@MichaelT1979@bennewmark My son's primary were the only state school in a maths competition, polos and sweatshirts for them, blazers in increasingly odd colours for the rest, culminating in yellow with a purple border and straw boaters. We had to hide our giggles. this was only 5 years ago in Sheffield.
Recently Mr Willcox and Mrs Harris took a group of Y10 pupils to the AMSP Maths Feast at @LancasterUni. This involved local secondary schools completing challenges. Our valiant teams did very well! Well done Thomas, Patrick G, Lily, Elena, Henry, Patrick Mc, Finlay and Isaac.
@jim_wild It did make it easy to find maths and English certificates when changing career aged 40+. But on removal the typed ink had transferred to the plastic sleeve.
@ZoeLGriffiths Our family really enjoyed it and our first trip to Ri. New game to play on train back up far north tomorrow- guess the barcode check digit 😃
@CatSmithMP My 14 year old was "loitering" around a park last night. His Scout Explorer group joined with another group. Supervised by a fantastic group of volunteers.
