However, it is vital that the rollout maintains the high standard of care proven to work, and that it starts this year, not next.

The service will help up to 165,000 children with special education needs access sight tests in comfortable learning environments.

Around 165,000 pupils will be able to get their eyes checked in a familiar place where they feel more comfortable, without needing to travel to an optician.
