Instead of complying with the court’s order, they placed him on a 72-hour SUICIDE WATCH. That means complete isolation; no calls home, no access to counsel, no normal property. It’s the most restrictive status they can use. This is a factually innocent man.

The excuse given that now questions are being asked? “The transport van broke down.” Because apparently the entire Louisiana DOC operates on a single vehicle. Noted.

Today, Jimmie Duncan was taken all the way to the front prison gate — processed and prepared for release — only to be turned around and sent back to death row. No warning. No explanation that makes sense.

Let’s be honest: they were stalling Jimmie Duncan’s release from the jump. @AGLizMurrill has built her whole brand on pushing executions, and the idea of her “parade of gassing” being interrupted by a factually innocent man doesn’t fit her narrative.

Louisiana is in chaos right now. @AGLizMurrill is fighting harder to keep an innocent man on death row than she is to follow a DIRECT court order. The stay was denied, Jimmie Duncan should’ve been released. But they refused to let him go home today.
