@GCUParamedicBSc
We are delighted that the time has come for us to say the following to all of our student paramedic peers:
Happy bursary payment day!
🥳💰🚑
We want to thank everyone; students, members of the public, organisations and politicians alike who helped to support our campaign.
Making notes as I go over medical emergencies in the JRCALC book, how am I ever going to remember it all. 34 pages of notes so far and only at febrile illness in children, never mind the drugs paramedics carry and use. 2nd year is going to be a baptism of fire, getting ready!
What’s not to like about a little insomnia, I mean a social media catch up at 2.30am is nothing short of peaceful in my household. Well with the exception of my husbands snoring.
Lisa, Lizzie and Craig are all paramedic students
They met with the Health Secretary this morning and have been telling me about the difference the annual bursary will make
We only went and did it. Meeting with @HumzaYousaf today was proper nice and great to hear that all Students studying paramedic science will receive a well deserved bursary. @ParamedicsPay
Brilliant meeting with @AnasSarwar today. He was clear in his commitment that student paramedics in Scotland deserve a bursary whilst we train.
We are going to keep fighting so that no student paramedic has to study in poverty ✊🏿✊🏽✊🏻
Our campaign has received a huge amount of support and crucially from @NUSScotland and @MCrilly
Sadly though we are still waiting for a meeting with @HumzaYousaf on whether this bursary will be in place before September #PayStudentParamedics
My last shift of my ambulance placement today, going to miss the crew and the experiences and learnings I’ve been privileged to be apart of. Thank you @Scotambservice for letting first years learn and develop in becoming future paras and to all those mentors supporting us.
