Lisa once recorded herself singing a Bruno Mars song for a monthly evaluation, and a YG mentor told her that she should stick to rapping, even though her vocal coach was very impressed by her singing. That led to her becoming skeptical of herself. Since that incident, she ignored her passion for singing and focused on rapping, just because she was scared of being eliminated by YG.

That trauma affected her solo career. However, she is much more confident now. After her one-year break was over, she went back to South Korea. She was scared that YG would confine her in a box again. She loves her freedom.
