@ask_aubry After living with a (wonderful) male dog throughout his elder years, I have a preference for girls now. He had a "dribbling" issue for his last 3 years. All elderly dogs have issues but would rather not deal with that one again.

@bitchbi45 @inreGray @vrbo vrbo is NOT inherently better. They did nothing for us when a rental was filthy, not as advertised, AND the host double booked- we came back after dinner to people standing there looking confusedly at our luggage.

@Maladroithe Do what you can to mitigate - shade your windows with curtains/cardboard/whatever and switch to the "fan only" option when it cools down outside. Beyond that, use that AC as much as you need to!

@zzyzx @courtneymilan @atalantapendrag This may even be true of death. Most experience it only through TV. No one wants to die, but it's not *so* bad if it's a few coughs and bam, lights out. They don't consider lingering for months ugly & in pain with no control over their life, sending their family into bankruptcy.
