I got laid off yesterday from a job I really liked, for people I really liked. Just a reminder that youโre disposable as soon as they decide you are. Stop working late. Stop reading emails after hours. Stop working on weekends. A job is income to live your life, not your life.
13 things before turning 13: 1. Wake themselves up with an alarm. 2. Make at least 3 meals from scratch. 3. Do their own laundry start to finish. 4. Make a phone call and hold a complete conversation. 5. Introduce themselves to an adult with eye contact and confidence. 6. Know every emergency contact by heart, including their home address. 7. Read a food label and understand whatโs actually in their food. 8. Apologize sincerely, without a but. 9. Save toward something on purpose and wait for it. 10. Sit with an elder and hold a real conversation without looking at a device. 11. Be home on time and communicate before the time passes, not after. 12. Lose gracefully and win humbly, both are a skill and both require practice. 13. Show up for someone without being asked: a card, a call, a gesture, etc.
This happens too often. Yโall call family members and all go up to the facility and leave them with the message โThis ainโt the one!โ And watch the change. Stop leaving your loved ones at the mercy of people who Donโt EVEN LIKE PEOPLE
A Maryland woman says she is seeking answers after her mother was found with a black eye at Autumn Lake Healthcare. The facility reportedly told the family that she had fallen and was found on the floor.
The family later returned to document the room and speak with administrators. They say they were then asked to leave the facility.
Questions remain as the family continues to seek accountability and answers.
