@MoundLore @amanofthesoil Yes. The war was 100% about pulling the confederacy back into the union, regardless of why they seceded. Secession was largely about slavery... the war was not. The confederacy was de-facto an independent country when it began.

@wil_da_beast630 Slavery is a main reason why they seceded, yes. The "war" was about not letting them leave the union. There is a reason the south called it the war of secession... they already left and the north came in to say you can't leave. Both things can be true, and it turns out they are.
