Take care of what God already gave you. The home, the car, your body, your peace, the little things. Because if you can’t appreciate what you have now, how can God trust you with more?
Our hearts are heavy today for 19-year-old Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton, Texas. This brave young soldier was killed Friday in Iranian missile and drone attacks on a U.S. base in Jordan.
At just 19, she selflessly answered the call to defend our nation. Her courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Sending deepest condolences and prayers to her family, friends, and all who loved her. May God wrap you in comfort and grant her eternal peace.
Thank you for your service, Isabella. You are a true hero. 🇺🇸
No soy de las personas que se van a la primera. Suelo perdonar, comprender y dar oportunidades una y otra vez. Así que si algún día desaparezco de tu vida, no fue por impulso. Fue después de haber agotado todas las razones que tenía para quedarme.
Moving on from someone I gave my all to wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. I showed up, I tried, I stayed solid, and it still wasn’t enough for them. At some point you gotta accept when your effort isn’t appreciated and stop draining yourself trying to love someone who don’t show it back. I didn’t lose anything by letting go. I just stopped giving to someone who never knew how to be grateful.
my final act of love is never bothering you again. i spent so long overthinking every text, making excuses for your silence, staying hopeful even as you pulled away.
i kept reaching out because i didn’t want to lose you, not realizing i was the only one still fighting for us. i gave you my time and patience even as it drained me, stayed soft through your distance because i cared, and told myself loving you harder would fix it.
it didn’t. this is me letting go. it hurts more than i can say, but my final act of love is respecting your silence and staying gone. i can’t keep breaking myself for someone who doesn’t want me there.”
My therapist advised me,
"Learn to calm your own storm instead of venting to others. It may feel therapeutic to let it all out, but you reinforce negative thoughts. It's no one's job but yours to pull yourself out of your problems.
Journal, meditate, exercise, and release." felt that.
Before I give up on people, I always make sure I really try. I always give more chances than I should, and I always try to find understanding in their actions. That way when I give up I know I'm done for good, and nobody can act surprised when they don't hear from me again
My therapist dropped a gem: you can't spend your life avoiding heartbreak or bad things from happening. You have to condition yourself to have appropriate emotional responses but learn to keep moving forward.
This is exactly why you’ll find grown men glorifying their mothers’ sacrifices while having very little understanding of what those sacrifices actually cost them. I remember my aunt once telling me that leaving her job was one of the worst decisions she ever made yet her
