@Abahambe01@MuloiwaThendo In the example above people are being added just before they incur a large medical expense. The additional premiums do not cover the additional expenses. That loss is spread to everyone in the scheme via premium increases.
This should upset you as a South African, we are being told by the people a part of this 200, that our concerns about our weak borders and influx of illegal immigrants is not an issue worth fighting for. They are telling us not to be “vigilantes” by fighting for the country they neglect.
Look at how much they pay to protect themselves and how much they pay to protect the country.
@Itumelanin Part of the reason medical aid is so expensive for young people is the government regs around it. Bit unfair to blame capitalism when there is also heavy government regulation involved.
@BoitumeloCaleb I just think a 0 deposit is an unreasonable assumption. Most people will be getting a golf as a 2nd or 3rd car so they can trade in their previous car to significantly reduce the financed amount.
@kgeremolla Taxes alone will take the price of the car from R400k to R700k. You’ll see it for sale around the R800k mark as a result. The government is responsible for 75% of the markup.
@Nqxbile@kay_mahapa Higher LTV means more risk from a bank perspective. A car loan with significant deposit is basically guaranteed free money as even on default they would be able to repo the car and get back their capital.
@Nqxbile@kay_mahapa No that’s a scam by dealerships. If you apply directly with the bank you’ll get a lower interest rate as your deposit increases.
Dealerships encourage larger loans so they get larger commissions. They will omit the lower rates to get you to do a 0 deposit.
PLEASE REPOST:
I built South Africa's first black-owned electric vehicle company.
I have deployed 70+ EVs with Blue Chip Companies, Local SMEs and exported to the UAE.
I have invested R9.5 million of my own money over 10 years.
The IDC has given me R0.
They gave a white-owned competitor R69.9 million.

@vuyoxhamfu_ The cost to repair your car has gone up. Labour and materials usually have above inflation increases. Risk is probability times cost, your probability of a claim is decreasing/stable but cost is up.
You should shop around tho as insurers offer incentives for new policies.
@KgalzBodigelo@MuloiwaThendo If that’s the case don’t use your TFSA for deposits at banks. Interest income up to R23.5k is not taxable so you can open a normal account at the bank and deposit your money there so it earns measly interest. No use wasting your TFSA allowance on interest bearing accounts
@sechabachippa@MuloiwaThendo Going on auto trader and the cheapest 5 year old cayenne GTS is 1.35m. Most expensive is 2.05m average is 1.7m. Using the average as a deposit gives a payment of 20k per month over 6 years at prime minus one.
The other day I was at my apartment getting into an elevator, the building is traditionally a hotel.
In the lobby I saw 4 girls standing with a guy roughly cassper nyovest height, and a abit of a belly.
He literally said point blank, “la tseba le tlo jewa akere?. So you are right.
@RiebvJanbeeck There are 30 000 commercial farms i.e., farms registered with SARS where the primary purpose is farming. With each having more than one individual on it e.g., owners and staff. There are almost 2 million smallholder farms. Your 30 000 number is way off.
