Elan Vital, a film I made with @AbsoluteKaty, @TheKatrinaLenk, @DeRamos, and @jmtan19 a number of years ago. 48 min. running time, won some awards, we're still proud of it.

A long time ago, I was auditioning for the movie “The Doors” It was kind of a cattle call. They paired together potential Jims with potential Pamela‘s. And they were running behind so we were spilling out of the casting office, sitting on the porch, the lawn, and the driveway.
All of a sudden, a sixties convertible came screeching up, blaring Doors Music at top volume. And a guy jumped out and strode inside: He had wild hair and he was barefoot, shirtless, and wearing nothing but a pair of tight leather pants.
We all looked at each other like… Who is this guy? We were more than a little shook by the sheer audacity of his entrance. Well of course it was Val Kilmer and from that minute on, nobody else stood a chance.
Rip King.
I like how this short film foreshadows everything he was going to do with Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive.
Lumière and Company (1995) dir. David Lynch
for david: i remember watching a print of #Eraserhead on 16mm in college. it changed how i approached environmental sounds even room tone in every film i ever made. i skipped classes in high school to take a train into manhattan to catch the first showing of lynch’s #Dune. i remember being crushed by #BlueVelvet opening weekend in athens while backpacking through europe. it haunted my nightmares for most of 1987. i did get to meet david at #sundance a few years ago. i was very shy. his voice was striking and he was very kind to me. i thanked him for his work but also for all he’s done for transcendental meditation and for so many people who practice it. it’s a tool that i use every day on set. on my new film #CaughtStealing one of my fondest memories is austin, liev, vincent and myself taking a 20 minute break to recharge and disappear with our mantras. thank you #davidlynch and may you find safe passage. cut and print.
Naomi Watts shares a heartfelt tribute to David Lynch:
“My heart is broken. My Buddy Dave... The world will not be the same without him. His creative mentorship was truly powerful. He put me on the map. The world l’d been trying to break into for ten plus years, flunking auditions left and right. Finally, I sat in front of a curious man, beaming with light, speaking words from another era, making me laugh and feel at ease. How did he even ‘see me’ when I was so well hidden, and l’d even lost sight of myself?!”
Twin Peaks fam, actor Carel Struyken lost his family home in the fire. This GFM is so close to its original goal. Be that ball of pure love and chip in a little.

Pamela Anderson’s former agent didn’t bother to forward her the script for "The Last Showgirl."
“He threw it in the trash within the hour and never called me,” Anderson says. “This was not an agent. He was just someone who brought me work for money.”
The film’s director, Gia Coppola, tracked down Anderson’s son Brandon and he passed the script to her: "This is my opportunity to pour my entire life experience into something, a woman who is so well written, well rounded, flawed, interesting, complex. It was just a breathtaking piece of work. I've never had that feeling before.”

Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson have ended their "Fast and Furious" feud and came face to face at the #GoldenGlobes.
Diesel shouted out his co-star from the stage (“Hey, Dwayne”) as Johnson smiled back while the crowd laughed given their rocky history.
