So lovely to be seeing quite a few Painted Ladies from the recent influx 🤩. This one had a fleeting rest on the path in front of me, before gliding off into the distance. They have such phenomenal journeys #paintedlady#butterfly#lovebutterflies#lepidoptera#nomad
What a moth! The Puss Moth is truly striking and very beautiful. It gets its name ‘Puss’ from ‘pussycat ‘ due to its fluffy cat-like appearance. I’d love to see a Puss Moth caterpillar, they look incredible too 🤩 #moth#moths#lovemoths#lepidoptera#invertebrates#nature
Here come one of the most glorious sights and smells of spring: Bluebells are growing in number. The delicate Wood Anemones are beginning to form a carpet with Moschatel growing between. Red Campion flowers are opening up and Field Pansys are brightening the fields. #wildflowers
Here come more signs of spring and the promise of that fantastic feeling of spring being in full swing 💫. I spotted my first delicate Wood Anemone flowers this morning , alongside the buds of Wild Garlic 🤩. Can’t wait! #wildflowers#spring#signsofspring#woodland#walk
An incredible natural spectacle 🤩! This starling murmuration was absolutely phenomenal to watch, it just takes your breath (and words) away. A very special thing to experience. Nature really is amazing.

@North_Bucks123 That’s lovely, so nice to be in Devon 🤩 and to see lots of butterflies there and at home. Let’s hope it continues 🤞🏻. You got some geat photos of the Dingy Skippers 🤩
A few beauties recorded for The Big Butterfly Count. The Comma, Ringlet, Speckled Wood, Large White, Red Admiral, Peacock, Green-veined White and Common Blue. The Big Butterfly Count runs until the 10th Aug, if you have a spare 15 mins. #bigbutterflycount#butterflies#recording
@North_Bucks123 Mine too Kevin 😁, so pleased to see they are better for us 👌🏻. Mine picked up last year and have been better again this year. Last year and this year were the first years in a long while the ‘butterfly bush’ had a decent adornment of butterflies 🦋
@donnarainey4 It’s just so exciting and it lifts your heart when you see it happen doesn’t it. The orchids in your road verge photo really are glorious 🤩. Great when they are managed like that, it does seem to be becoming more common doesn’t it, with lots of good initiatives being set up.
@North_Bucks123 I have seen a good few Cinnabars on the wing 😁. I did read somewhere that this year looks set to be a big year for Ragwort, so that tallies. Hopefully it will help a good few insects. So many use it.
The Cinnabar Moth has been busy, fantastic to see all these little caterpillars. Something tells me they are very hungry caterpillars and soon there will not be much left of this Ragwort and they will be much bigger #cinnabarmoth#moths#lovemoths#wildlife#nature
@donnarainey4 It’s absolutely fantastic to see and amazing what nature and great management can do 🤩. A grassland near me was regularly mown for years. Same thing, it has been managed by a late summer cut for the last few years and up popped a Greater Butterfly Orchid and other nice plants 👌🏻
