Merlin Class have had a wonderful morning celebrating with their Christmas party and meeting Santa, followed by mini games, Christmas colouring and a delicious Christmas lunch! π
Today, year 2 had a lovely time at Little Sutton Methodist Church. We listened to the Nativity story through song, dance and storytelling as well as making a Christmas craft.
We had a visitor come in to school from living streets charity this week to discuss with the children the benefits of active travel. How many times will you walk, bike, scoot or park and stride to school?
In science in year 2, we have been learning about plants and animals in different habitats. We had to find the different pictures and facts around the room to match the correct habitat.
Osprey class had a fun-filled day of activities to celebrate #cin2025 We took part in a morning fitness class with Joe Wicks and we managed to do our challenge 25, which took a while! Following our learning about Diwali, we took part in a special Indian dancing session.
What a treat we have had in school today! We had a visitor come in and discuss the celebration of Divali. The children did so well learning an Indian dance! Some super moves in year 2!
As part of children in need this year, the children have had a βChallenge 25β today. To link with World Kindness Day and Anti-bullying this week, children in year 2 worked together to try and come up with 25 ways to be kind. There were some lovely answers on how to be kind!
Another exciting and active day on residential for Y6 @Barnstondale. Peregrines have completed the βnightlineβ activity involving a blindfolded obstacle course! They have also been on the rifle range and tower climb.
Y6 Have had an amazing 2 days on residential @Barnstondale so far. Our first day was a little damp but it gave us the perfect opportunity to learn how to create shelters and make a fire to keep warm.
The Owls remembered those that fought for our freedoms and fell silent at 11am as a mark of respect. We then worked together to create our own Flanders Field, layering circles in size order to produce unique poppies.
Weβre incredibly proud of our Student Council members who represented our school so beautifully and respectfully at todayβs Remembrance Parade. They showed true dignity, gratitude, and community spirit as we came together to honour those who served. πΉ #LestWeForget
Year 2 had a super treat today where we had a special visitor come in and show us 3 different types of owls. We learnt a lot about owls which is going to help us with our writing and gathering facts. We all enjoyed stroking the owls and we even saw one take flight!
Today we celebrated these children completing their ELSA sessions with Mrs Connell. They all worked so hard and engaged with sessions exploring different emotions. Well done.
I am so lucky to have shared a special βHeadteacherβs Tableβ with some of our pupils, who have been recognised for demonstrating our school rules and values, this half-term. We enjoyed a lovely lunch, some well-earned treats and lots of laughter! What a privilege π
