This is an important message for all the USG universities and like they said “especially HBCUs” but it’s just as important for faculty/staff as it is students. Purdue and his policies are trash.
I’ll leave it at that.
This is a great time to remind all the folks on here who are University System of Georgia graduates, especially those who attended HBCUs, that the next governor is likely going to have the pick over who succeeds Sonny Perdue as chancellor of the University System of Georgia.
If we elect Keisha Lance Bottoms, we can change the tide of how this board is run and reverse this anti-DEI BS, the blatant attack on professors, and get our pubic HBCUs the funding they need.
This is what's at stake, and this is one of the biggest issues I want to bring to light as the founder of HBCU Pulse and a proud graduate of Fort Valley State University and the University System of Georgia.
Let's do all we can to make sure we get the right outcome here. I know education policy ain't sexy, but HBCU alumni don't really have a choice but to care about stuff like this.
4 years ago this tweet spoke to me on many levels. I was a classroom teacher with many out of class duties/leadership roles. I felt seen and heard. It was my 20th year in Edu. Resigned at the end of the school year.
