If your child falls behind in maths or English, we are asking schools to intervene and help them get them back on track.
That’s our pledge to every parent.
It’s part of the central mission of this government: to unite and level up across the country.
Schools: what we need to get the best outcomes for our students is more funding, a better social security model, more support with mental health, better training, better curriculum materials.
DfE: have you thought about extending the school day?
@missdcox I was a good teacher at my last school (I think! And feedback and results at least suggest I was doing something right!). I’m not a great teacher at this school - wrong fit, different school approach to behaviour. Amazing how much changes in a diff setting.
@acaringteacher @FakeHeadteacher I had that feedback once from a learning walk: I was still on a vocab task when then the other class had moved on. I didn’t have the confidence then to be able to say what I thought … ‘so?! We took longer to grasp the words. They are different classes and different children!’
Today, I’ve decided to hand in my notice. I am not the right fit for this school. I think I still want to stay in teaching, but I’m not sure. I feel hugely guilty about leaving the children but it’s just not working.
