Just in case people are not aware, the removal of electricity subsidies in Nigeria, which has caused the astronomical rise in electricity prices, was directly dictated by the World Bank's to both the previous and the present Nigerian government.
Whether you think electricity should even be subsidised or not (I personally think it should be, because there is literally no serious country in the world where it isn't), what should worry you more than the removal alone is the fact that a small group of unelected, anonymous white men in Washington DC acting on behalf of a foreign state interest (the US govt is the World Bank's biggest shareholder) have the power to determine how much you should pay for your electricity in Nigeria.
The electricity is generated in Nigeria, using Nigerian energy sources and Nigerian labour, and is distributed and transmitted using Nigerian infrastructure, but one group of oyibos you have never heard of who are sitting on another continent somehow have the power to instruct your government to raise your energy bills and complicate your life.
They even offer your government loans that it doesn't need and isn't qualified for, then they make disbursement conditional on increasing your electricity bill by removing the same electricity subsidy that they have in their own country, because Africa's largest population and industrial cluster must not be allowed to have sustained and reliable access to cheap power. If it gets that, the only possible result is industrialisation - which means no more free natural resources and cheap labour to support the existing unipolar economic order.
This is why geopolitics concerns you in Agege. It literally determines the price of your Ikeja Electric units.

UPDATE: After coming under immense pressure from the Nigerian public and an intervention involving @Mazi_OJD, @sowore, @adeyanjudeji, @Adebayo_Ralph and myself, @PoliceNG has confirmed that @PIDOMNIGERIA is alive and well in detention at FCID Abuja.
A member of our intervention team on the ground in Abuja physically laid eyes on him a few minutes ago and she confirmed that he is alive and well. According to the Police, he will be arraigned in court next week.
We are requesting a copy of his charge sheet so that a bail application can be prepared.
Nigerians must keep the pressure on so that this goalpost does not shift.

According to information reaching us, @PIDOMNIGERIA was definitely alive and relatively unharmed until Wednesday in FCID detention.
Between then and now, something has changed, and we don't know what. Every security agency in Abuja is denying knowing anything about it.
The only thing we know is that ONSA is in charge of this somehow, even though ONSA technically has no direct jurisdiction over @PoliceNG.

The Counter Subversion Bill 2024 is a draconian-obnoxious anti-peoples bill, & it’s sponsored by Speaker Tajudeen Abass himself.
That Bill should never see the light of the day. Nigeria is a demoCrazy, not a prison. The NASS are no wardens out to keep people in.
It passed first reading, & it’s up for a second reading. That Bill is proof that the House of Representatives are there for themselves. They don’t represent the people of Nigeria.
Under the Draconian Bill, you could pay a fine of up to N5 & N10 million, or go to jail for:
1. Protesting.
2. Insulting the politicians.
3. Donating money during protests.
4. Refusing to sing the National Anthem.
There are certain religions that do not sing the National Anthem. Jehovah Witnesses is one of them. Criminalizing their Right to Religious Expression is infringing on their Rights.
You should never handover your rights to the people who banned Twitter & gagged the media. The APC have shown time after time, that they’re afraid of the truth.
