FEMA is being weaponized in California to delay rebuilding from fires. I need @KristiNoem at @fema to see this. Rather than spending $4M to repair my homes from fires I will be forced to spend $60M to take down a perfectly constructed house and the foundation to raise the house 13” because of some new arbitrary worries about coastal flooding.
Fema should have no influence on homes on coast of California when there have never been flood threats there. Fema doesn’t own this home I do. Fema didnt buy the house I did. Why would any Gov’t agency be involved in what I do with my property? Where was FEMA for decades regarding allowing home owners using wood construction despite California has 8500 fires a year? My home is built of concrete & why its still standing. FEMA GET OUT OF MY LIFE. Everywhere you go you make life more expensive by adding ridiculous regulations.

This is our first in a multi-part series on the City Commission's agenda-driven vision for growth and development in our town.
The City of Bozeman has just released the drafts of two documents that will shape our community’s future for decades: an update to the Community Plan and a brand new Unified Development Code (UDC). Citing the lack of staff capacity to complete the legally-mandated full review and update to the Community Plan, which is the document that sets forth the city's long-range vision for the future, it has only undergone the minimal changes necessary to come into compliance with recently-passed legislation. The document as a whole is based on flawed assumptions, outdated data, and a future residents didn't ask for, including metrics of increased redevelopment, decreased use of automobiles, and increased use of public transit (that will be paid for by taxpayers). The UDC, the document that implements the vision of the Community Plan, puts the vision in motion, the output of which can only be as good as the input from the Community Plan.
