Two suspects have been arrested at Mooiplaas Informal Settlement in Erasmia, Pretoria, after police recovered military firearms allegedly stolen during a burglary at a SANDF facility earlier this year.
The intelligence-driven operation, conducted jointly by SAPS and the SANDF on Saturday, led to the recovery of two R4 rifles with ammunition, a replica firearm, and a traffic officer’s uniform.
The suspects now face charges including possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of government property, possession of a dangerous weapon, and contravention of immigration laws.
Police are investigating whether the suspects may be linked to other criminal activities.

*WINBURG:* Police wishes to inform motorists and the general public that the N5 road between Senekal and Winburg is temporarily closed to traffic.
This closure follows an accident involving a diesel tanker, which has resulted in a hazardous fuel spillage across the roadway. Emergency services and clean-up crews are currently on the scene working to secure the area and clear the spill.

Motorists traveling from Winburg toward Senekal: Please use the Winburg town off-ramp to bypass the scene and reconnect toward your destination.
Motorists traveling from Senekal toward Winburg/N1: Please detour through Winburg town to access the N1 highway.
