🌹 Labour across Liverpool City region is bringing our buses back under public control after nearly four decades of privatisation.
🙋♂️We are putting passengers before profit and giving local people much greater control over the network they depend on, for too long our bus network have too often been driven by commercial priorities rather than what is best for passengers and communities.
🚍People will see the difference from day one, with the first yellow buses appearing on our roads from Sunday.
🚌This is only the beginning – franchising will roll out across the whole Liverpool City Region as we build a simpler, more reliable and more accountable bus network.
🚌 WE’VE TAKEN BACK CONTROL 🚌
For the first time in 40 years, buses in the Liverpool City Region are back under public control.
A new era for public transport in our area has begun. 👏
If Carl Cashman refuses to discipline his Councillors then Liverpool Labour will maintain standards of decency within Liverpool City Council.
Today a formal complaint has been submitted to the Council's Monitoring Officer:
"We believe that these comments are an example of Holocaust trivialisation and, as such, are potentially contrary to the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism, which Liverpool City Council adopted and a breach of the Councillors' Code of Conduct."
We have asked this be fully investigated and referred to the Council Standards Committee if necessary.
