Working on the Kenya Livestock Masterplan (KLMP) which provides for:
✅ Increased investment in the sector
✅ Better market access for livestock producers
✅ Improved disease control & surveillance
✅ Strengthened livestock value chains
✅ Economic growth & job creation
A team of experts inclusive of Livestock policy experts, legal experts, State Corporations at KARLO Dairy Research Institute to finalize the Regulatory Impact Assessment for the proposed Livestock Bill 2024. This followed a series of stakeholders consultations on the bill.
The Director Livestock Policy, Research and Regulations, accompanied the CS Agriculture, in hosting the International Finance Corporation leadership. Important issues were discussed including strengthening partnerships and revitalization of the SDLD project portfolio
(v) Develop and coordinate implementation of the capacity building framework for improved livestock-based livelihoods, increased income, food & nutrition security and resilience to climate change effects.
Our Mandates includes;
(i) Spearhead and coordinate formulation of Livestock Sector policies, legislations, strategies and plans;
(ii) Lead and coordinate monitoring implementation of Livestock Sector policies, legislations, strategies and plans;

(iii) Coordinate setting of the research agenda, dissemination and monitor uptake of livestock research findings, technologies and innovations;
(iv)Coordinate generation and regularly update Livestock Sector data, information and knowledge management function; and ....
