Research Series, Part 5: Community
Living on Block starts as one person testing the @blocks ecosystem in daily life
But the bigger opportunity is community ๐งต
Before the Living on Block experiment starts in July, I thought Iโd share some of the research / prep work behind it:
1. The Plan
2. How Iโll Measure Things
3. Known Gaps + Workarounds
4. Rewards
5. Community
Linking threads below as they go live ๐งต
Have a story to share about @blocks' ecosystem? Use #livingOnBlock when you post
Throughout the experiment, Iโll share community highlights
Let's create a world of financial freedom together ๐

Living on Block starts as one person testing the @blocks ecosystem in daily life
But the bigger opportunity is community ๐งต
If youโre using @CashApp, @Square, @Bitkey, or #bitcoin in everyday life, your experience is useful
Not just the wins - but also the friction: confusing flows, failed payments, awkward merchant moments, and small UX gaps
Cash App also has debit card offers: discounts and money back when spending at certain companies
Iโll be testing both programs once the experiment starts and reporting back on whether they actually create enough pull to change default behavior
These are all hypotheses based on initial research - excited to start exploring them properly in July
@BitcoinatBlock's plan to share a public, open roadmap soon will also help inform existing gaps and plans ๐
Research Series, Part 3: Known gaps + workarounds
Leading up to the Living on Block experiment, I did an initial review of @blocks ecosystem features (not hands-on yet, just documentation) to spot any major surprises in advance
Here are potential gaps Iโm considering ๐งต
6. Bitcoin accessibility
Cash App has bitcoin education tools and @Bitkey aims to make self-custody more approachable
Will the bitcoin layer of the ecosystem be accessible enough for everyday users?
