PreK English Learner Summer School was a success! Although I wasn’t as good at taking pictures or tweeting about it, I think it was my best year of Summer School and a great way to end my time as a classroom teacher (at least for now). Here is a small photo dump of our month! ♥️

This is Jackie Cazares at her Holy Communion. This beautiful child was 10 yrs old.

Jackie was among the victims who died in the Uvalde school shooting. Her family said she and her cousin Annabelle who was also killed were in the same fourth grade classroom.

Unbearable hurt.

This is Irma Garcia. A mom of four children and a devoted teacher.

Her family tells me they know in their hearts she begged the gunman to not harm the children. That’s who she was- an amazing human being.

They are profoundly heart broken.

Amerie Jo Garza was in 4th grade.

Her dad Angel Garza says she just turned 10 two weeks ago.

He begged people to help find her for hours yesterday, then he learned she was among the victims killed.

A 4th grader killed at Robb Elementary today. His mother had attended his awards ceremony 1-2 hours before the school shooting.
