FURTHERMORE- this can be very triggering for people with mental health, disorder eating, and body dysmorphia issues. It perpetuates the idea that one’s worth is in having the “perfect body”. Shine a light on the things that matter. Love is beauty.
Listen
If you aren’t asked, there is no reason to make a comment on someone’s body, even if you think you’re being kind. Why do we feel it’s ok to tell someone to eat a cheeseburger or that they’re wasting away? You have no idea what they are going through.
It’s just odd to me that we feel entitled to commentary on others’ bodies. Compliment someone’s intellect, personality, tenacity, humor, creativity- that is so much more meaningful than saying “you’re wasting away LOL”
You really don’t know people’s experience- be mindful
Don’t speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn’t know the difference. Words are energy that cast spells, that’s why it’s called spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life. What you’re not changing, you’re also choosing.
