yes, yes, YES! Queensland is considering a portable long service leave scheme for the community sector. We’re drafting a submission but the more the better: https://t.co/XXtu9aMV6B
@DrDeeMichell@mommalawgrad Im sorry for your experiences. The secondary trauma I experienced through involvement with RC was crushing (& Im still triggered by things). The strength of people who have survived such trauma is now a constant motivator for me to do what I can to make sure children r safe
@Erythrina5@mommalawgrad@DrDeeMichell It's no relationship with any system that compels me to call out your particular misrepresentation. And it's your unsubstantiated opinion about how private sessions participants were treated that I'm challenging. How tiring for you to think you represent all survivors of CSA
@Erythrina5@DrDeeMichell@mommalawgrad You dont trust their conclusions yet you draw on them regularly in your tweets as part of your advocacy...that must be a very confusing position to hold...
@mommalawgrad@Erythrina5@DrDeeMichell I'm so sorry you have felt compelled by the misdirected comments of @Erythrina5 to expose your experience on this unsupportive platform where lies & toxicity rule. I urge you to look after yourself. Thank u, but please dont feel u need to expose yourself here. Please take care
@mommalawgrad@Erythrina5@DrDeeMichell I dont think it matters to @Erythrina5 what the truth is @mommalawgrad. She performs on this platform in a way that shows it is very painful for her to engage with any opinion different to her own experience.
@mommalawgrad@Erythrina5@DrDeeMichell You're probably right in the case of some workers, although you undermine your argument somewhat with essentialism. It's great you are trying to be part of the solution with others of us to challenge people to work differently.
@Erythrina5@mommalawgrad@DrDeeMichell@IDickson258 I respect how u advocate for the experience of some people @Erythrina5. I'm not sure how I deserve the rage u direct towards me but u have your reasons for targeting me this way. I'm sorry u have been hurt & let down by people. I genuinely hope u find peace from the pain u carry
@mommalawgrad@Erythrina5@DrDeeMichell Thank you @mommalawgrad. I'm thinking you've read the paper too. I was trying to express the idea that we need to identify our sameness as human beings when working with people. It's not necessarily often comfortable, but I was trying to argue how it is ethical
@DrDeeMichell Would you mind if I share your blog link with my social welfare and youth work students? It's an important source of evidence to help me challenge potential judgemental and stereotyped pre-understanding some may have.
