Like the best real world application of right triangle trig is measuring things that are very large using a clinometer or something. Anyone have this but indoors, as we will be getting there in late Nov in Iowa???? Or similar activity that involves them actually measuring things?
I don't really post much on here anymore but embarked on year 12 today. Feeling old but not worn out yet, loved overhearing a kid already say "this class is fun" while doing the 100 Number task. #mtbos
@kathyhen_@mathequalslove Love the 100# challenge have done it day 1 for years and years. I do 3 2 min rounds with discussion between https://t.co/D0tCrG5GUp
Tornado Warning right at the start of the school day, senior's last day, teacher next door's door won't open from inside the classroom, 10% of the school is on a choir trip to NYC, we are LIMPING INTO SUMMER over here
@MrCorleyMath@IanKerr_math@NewJerseyDOE@amtnj I feel like this map should be even more color coded - it has the info if you click on it but Iowa only gets a Desmos scientific calculator, not the graphing one, for theirs
@JGomezMathEd congrats! my main tip would be to consistently communicate updates on things to your department - even if the update is "I asked about this and haven't gotten an answer yet" - they want to have the info they need and know that you're working for them.
One of our editors, a former teacher, just spent two days subbing and she has THOUGHTS about her return to the classroom after two years. #teachertwitter#payteachersmore 🔽https://t.co/VX394sHihE

@YoderRenae Nice! I give mine a 5 minute limit to see how many they can find - my 1st and 4th blocks usually find them all in less than that. 4th block was very motivated yesterday when I told them 1st didn't get to do it!
We play the SET daily puzzle a few days a week for our opener activity in class and I literally got yells of NOOOOOOO from my 1st block today when I told them the site was down. It's their favorite opener. Hope it gets fixed soon!

Thank you so much to @GSEIWI (and Maura specifically for the hookup) for helping my students get their last Cookie fix of the season as a reward for their hard work!
"Mrs. Schwind I have a probability question for you...what's the probability that my ex girlfriend will be in both my 1st and 2nd block class?....no really can we actually calculate that probability"
Me: "well, it would be an AND question, so....what rule do we use...."
