Open, fully informed and unbiased public hearings are required, supported by due diligence and meaningful analysis.
The public cannot be expected to provide informed feedback when neither the proposal nor its impacts have been properly presented.
Forgive us for being suspicious, but all we have so far is a process the Province deliberately rushed into place to cut Torontonians out, and a federal consultation process built around a survey that reflects neither the complexity of the issue nor the information needed to properly evaluate it.
This is how broken the democratic process in Canada is. A mega bank based in America hired an army of ex-Liberals, Conservatives and NDPers and bolted the issue of Billy Bishop expansion to the top of the priority list for Ford and Carney.
No one voted for it. No one wanted it. No one campaigned on it. Torontonians are massively against it.
We are under economic warfare. Ontario govt wiped out OSAP for students. Yet govts think it wise to spend their resources on an issue no one wanted except one mega US bank.
This is the key danger of privatization. These foreign equity banks are massive, comparable to govts and have ability to bribe and buy out govts. JP Morgan just did it.
ER doctor here. The worry isn't what's going to happen to people who can afford FIFA tickets. The worry is the people on a boring Wednesday night that can't afford FIFA and waited 8 hours to see an ER doctor because they don't have other options or are stuck in ER for days.
@CraigBaird Hoping you’ll have time for a visit here. https://t.co/c4K0pYWjc8. If our hours don’t match your schedule, send us a message and we will accommodate.
Happy travels.
Not on the bird site often so be sure to message the Discovery page or email.
Hello Toronto. The reason for EMS delay isn't primarily due to bike lanes. It's because EMS faces delays in the ER - where I work - in offloading. The problem is increasing with a shortage of ER beds. From the 2024 Toronto Auditor General's report.

NEW: An exhaustive review of roughly 200 flights in Doug Ford’s calendars reveal he essentially stopped flying commercial in late 2025, switching almost entirely to private flights.
Opposition blasted him during question period, but Ford insists he’s better than former premiers
We're in a weird era where a guy gets publicly shamed for running his sprinklers on a Tuesday, while a data center the size of a Costco quietly drains a reservoir so AI can generate a picture of your cat as a medieval knight. And the data center gets a tax incentive for it.
One year ago today, my first history book Canada's Main Street, was released!
Getting my first book published was an amazing experience.
