@NOjoelaw@steaksauc3@aaronperk05 When P4s won’t answer a call from JMU and everyone says your SOS sucks, there is no such thing as an “unnecessary touchdown”
People wondered why the “grab ’em by the pussy” tape wasn’t enough to destroy Donald Trump’s political career.
There are obviously many reasons Trump won in 2016. But I keep coming back to one reason that tape wasn’t politically disqualifying: what we heard on it wasn’t as far removed from the way women are viewed in our society as we would like to believe.
And I thought about that again when I read the allegations coming out of Cornell. A former Cornell student has filed a lawsuit alleging that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by multiple members of a fraternity in 2024. Among the allegations in the lawsuit is a Snapchat message sent to a fraternity group chat referring to her as “free pussy” upstairs.
Think about those words.
Not a woman. Not a fellow student. Not a human being with agency over her own body. A body being offered up for other men to use.
And that is the connection I can’t stop thinking about.
“Grab ’em by the pussy.”
“Free pussy upstairs.”
These are radically different circumstances, and allegations in a lawsuit are not established facts. But the language reflects something we still have not adequately confronted: a culture that can teach boys and men to see women’s bodies as things to possess, consume, trade, judge, or abuse.
Those lessons don’t suddenly begin in college.
Boys can encounter pornography and highly sexualized content online long before they have the emotional maturity to understand intimacy, consent, or healthy relationships. Social media can then amplify influencers and communities that explicitly demean women or treat relationships as contests of male dominance.
Maybe the question we should have been asking after the Access Hollywood tape wasn’t only, “How could people hear a man talk about women that way and still vote for him?”
Maybe the bigger question was: Why did that way of talking about women sound familiar enough that millions of people could hear it and move on? Just as every man in that Cornell frat did nothing to stop the horrors inflicted on the human being in their frat.
Raising boys who won't commit sexual assault is NOT enough. Raise them to be the man in the group chat who texts back: NO, stop this, and I'm calling the cops.
If you’re a 25 year old woman on a plane and the man next to you starts masturbating and the flight crew won’t deal with it properly, find a Gen X woman seated nearby.
We have been preparing for this moment since 1999 and we would be delighted to handle the situation.
@united should be embarrassed
BREAKING: Trump has made nearly 29,000 securities trades since returning to the White House, more than all members of Congress combined (22,200)—Bloomberg
Drain. The. Swamp.
Colbert interviews James Talarico. CBS won’t air it.
Kimmel interviews James Talarico. ABC won’t air it.
Both end up on YouTube amid FCC equal-time pressure.
When broadcasters fear government consequences for airing political interviews, PAY ATTENTION.
You don’t have to become China or Russia overnight.
The warning signs come first.
Yale University has found that the Medicare for all system would save at least 114,000 lives and reduce U.S healthcare costs by 1 trillion dollars a year annually.
The U.S. House will be in session only 4 full days from July 24th to November 8th.
That’s 100 paid days off versus 4 full workings days plus 4 travel (half) days.
Meanwhile TRUMP says YOU have too many holidays.
Elon Musk spent $290M to elect Trump. Now he wants to spend up to $200M to buy a Senate seat in Texas and keep Republicans in control of Congress.
That’s not democracy. That’s oligarchy.
End Citizens United. Ban super PACs. Get billionaires—from both parties—out of elections.

Warren Buffett says if the top 800 other major corporations paid what Berkshire Hathaway did in taxes, Americans wouldn't have to pay a dime in income taxes, or any taxes
“If we send in a check like we did last year, we send in over $5 billion to the US federal government, and of 800 other companies had done the same thing. No other person in the United States would've had to pay a dime of federal taxes. Other income taxes, no social security taxes, no estate taxes — It doesn't bother me in the least to write that check, and I would really hope with all the America's done for all of you, it shouldn't bother you that we do it”
You understand what he’s saying here right? We are subsidizing corporations cheating on taxes with our income tax
