@BBSimons Isn't this an oppprtunity for the state to get value for the country? For instance, how much of thr $700m accrued to the state? Must we always be beggars? I'm for renegotiation that gives at least 40% to the state, no matyer who gets it. Some things must change.
A concerned brother managed to get to the B plant treatment side of the Ghana water company where river Bonsa was being 'treated' for the peiple of Tarkwa and it's environs and guess what he found. This is a war crime, people. #ecocide#ghana
I was completely perplexed to see what the acting NCA Boss decide to make his first high-profile public engagement: the shady & dubious 5G project of the previous administration. For real? All the other, more pressing, issues in the sector notwithstanding?
1. There have been detailed analyses presented as to why that whole 5G gig is a big SCAM. No one has bothered to explain, certainly not the acting NCA Boss. See this thread for some of the essays.
2. The prominent international shareholders that were publicly announced turned out NOT to be shareholders at all. Their brands were used to promote a clear SCAM.
3. The whole concept of the 5G project doesn't make sense. The claim is that when we allowed the telcos to invest on their own to upgrade from 2G to 3G and then to 4G, the biggest telcos seized a large share of the market. So this time telcos will be forced to buy 5G capacity from a shady monopoly instead. How does that stop any telco from maintaining their monopoly? How?
4. This whole monopoly mess, with shady owners, need to be scrapped and a better model of pushing 5G adopted. Simples.
@ArmahKofiBuah A son of the soil, you know firsthand how the illegal mining has affected us. You also know that communities don't benefit from our resources. This is an opportunity to leave an indellible mark. All the best. We'll be rooting for you.
To President John Dramani Mahama, all the oil is being pulled from offshore Nzema land. So, be guided in your appointments, Sir. We've got the men and women too, and we are tired of being spectators. End of announcement. #Ghana#ITLOS
@thePOE_T It's definitely a class act. I'm very proud of my MP for speaking for many Ghanaians, and he did it with that mischievous smirk on his face. Classy!
We join our colleagues @EcoConsciousGH
and ask of @GhPoliceService
and IGP Dr George Akuffo Dampare, Sir, why the selective justice? https://t.co/zGh3W0yXsO
This can only happen in Ghana. Western Region is the butt of all jokes in Ghana for a reason. It lacks proper leadership, both traditional and political. The Minister is the worst of an already useless bunch.
🚨🇬🇭The Western Regional Ministers has written to the Regional Police Commander to post some of his men to guard the statue of Nana Akufo Addo following the threat by the constituent to demolish it.
As we speak there is 24hrs police shift guarding the Nana Akuffo Addo’s Statue
@1BongoIdeas This needs to be pulled down. It's a slap in the face of Western region, the most sidelined region in all of Akufo-Addo's horrible presidency.
This is very inappropriate. Who advises this man? And he chose to do this in a region he has deliberately sidelined for 8 years. Robbing salt in the wound of residents of the Western Region. Pull it down, somebody.
President Akufo-Addo's unveiling of a statue of himself at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital raises serious questions about his priorities and commitment to the people of the Western Region.
This extravagant display of self-aggrandizement comes at a time when the region has been largely neglected, with pressing needs and concerns left unaddressed.
The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-NPP government continues to take the Western Region for granted.
This grandiose gesture is a misplaced priority.
The people of the Western Region deserve better than these self-serving displays.

We've petitioned the
@Minerals Commission Ghana to cancel the application by SDSD to mine the Amanzule basin, declare it a red zone, cancel the license they've used to destroy Fia and Amanzule rivers and blacklist them for #ecocide#StopGalamseyNow#SaveOurRivers
