So excited to be starting a new role in @itvnews’ UK Bureau, working with the incredible @PaulBrandITV!
It is such an important brief and @NathanLeeTV leaves some enormous shoes to fill. I couldn’t be more proud to join a team whose journalism has such impact.
Thrilled that @LizzLittle is joining me as Senior UK Producer for ITV News.
Liz is one of the best journalists we have - delivering huge exclusives and vital investigations into matters of major public concern.
I can’t wait to work with her and take our coverage into a new era.
Just to add to the rife speculation, when I interviewed Angela Rayner she admitted that she had met with Andy Burnham last Friday (though absolutely denied a deal had been done).
Who else was there? The Oldham MP Jim McMahon, she told me. The mind boggles.
EXCL: Angela Rayner says she has been cleared of any deliberate wrongdoing by HMRC.
🚨 And she’s not ruling out a bid for No10.🚨
In her first TV interview she insists there has been NO DEAL with Andy Burnham.
EXCL: One of the victims of today’s Golders Green attack, 34 year-old Shilome Rand, tells me he holds the government responsible for the stabbing.
Speaking from his hospital bed he says he feels “let down” and the govt is “not doing its job” in protecting the Jewish community.
Eyewitnesses in Golders Green say that while they were waiting for police to arrive they drove up and down shouting at people to beware of the suspect, as he chased and tried to stab people at random. They say he was deliberately targeting Jewish people, walking past others.
NEW: Video I have seen of the attack in Golders Green appears to show a man attacking a Jewish man, who was wearing a kippah, at random outside of a bus stop in Golders Green.
He is stabbed multiple times in quick succession, knocking him backwards.

The book invites you to witness, not judge, as it recounts extraordinary human stories from both sides of the assisted dying debate. All of them full of life, love and of course loss.
From the mother who helped her teenage daughter to die, to the Swiss clinic where people are dying in secret, the book travels to some of the furthest frontiers of one of the defining moral issues of our time.
Why have so many counties legalised assisted dying in quick succession? What has been the effect on society’s most vulnerable?
Has a corner now been turned? Have the frontiers of assisted dying extended too far? Why did the bill fail in England and Wales (for now), as well as in Scotland, and will countries like Canada even begin to roll back their laws?
I hope this book will give you all of the arguments you need to come to your own conclusions.
Thanks to the team @canelo_co@dkbooks@penguinrandom
Together, the Southport attack was a failure of both parenting and policy – nobody, says the Chair, agreed who was responsible for the troubled teenager.
It is rare to see a killer’s parents singled-out for not doing more to prevent their child’s crimes, writes ITV News' UK Editor, @PaulBrandITV

Thank you @PaulBrandITV for including my perspective as someone who does not support the assisted dying bill. I fear for those without care who feel they have no other choice. I don’t want a choice for myself if it means further suffering for others.

Incredibly grateful to those who have trusted us to tell their important stories.
Nicola opened her home to us, to show what living with a disability is like and why with the right support it shouldn’t be feared.
What should be feared, she tells @PaulBrandITV, is assisted dying leaving disabled people being coerced into an early death

EXCL: Terminally ill mother says peers must reject assisted dying, as poll for @itvnews reveals top reasons for opposing the bill.

A privilege to spend time with John in his final days, and to share his story now.
He tells @PaulBrandITV what having control over his death would have meant.

EXCL: 65% of people back the assisted dying bill, just 14% oppose it, as it’s held up in the Lords.

Campaigners for assisted dying gather outside Holyrood for today’s vote. Having spoken to many sources, it genuinely remains on a knife-edge.
Those opposed to the bill will also gather later this morning. Several MSPs have switched to oppose the bill in recent days.
NEW: More than a hundred Labour MPs have written to the PM urging him not to allow the House of Lords to block assisted dying.
Their plea is less about the bill in this session, which looks set to fail, but about resurrecting it in the next.
