Californians will have to pay for two new taxes next year after Gov. Gavin Newsom approved the state budget in June in what the California Taxpayers Association described as “the largest tax increase in state history.”
Newsom and Democratic lawmakers agreed on proposals that would raise health insurance premiums and slap a new charge on software downloads in an effort to make up federal revenue loss from an antagonistic Trump administration, Democrats said.

- $1,500,000 for the San Sevaine Trail (cost to bid in excess of estimate)

They’re also spending millions to create a “credits” program to make people pay to offset environmental impacts of projects (this is insanity)

@WallStreetApes This is called reparations so I went straight to slavery and thought that’s stupid we never had slaves. However, there was redlining in San Lorenzo, and there were unfairly displaced residents in Russell city. I don’t think this is the solution, but it’s not just CA craziness.
