Frida Kahlo, 1935 by photographer and best friend Lucienne Bloch, who said of this day..“We went to a Spanish restaurant and had a kind of strong stuff like Vodka..... We acted most crazy. It was a fine afternoon and cheered Frida up.” #WomensArt
This is a (colorized) photograph of Claude Monet sitting on a green sofa in his studio at his home in Giverny, Normandy, France. The paintings around him are his own Impressionist works, including water lily (Nymphéas) scenes and landscapes #art#arts
It’s Eric Ravilious’ birthday today: he was born in Acton #OTD in 1903, although he spent his young life in Eastbourne after his family moved to #Sussex. It’s wonderful there are so many of us who continue to appreciate his work. Long may it continue!
We were saddened to hear of the death of David Austin. He leaves a legacy of exquisite, scented English Roses in many gardens, world-wide. As the Chairman of David Austin Roses he turned the nursery started by his father, the late David C H Austin into a globally respected company.
His children, Richard, James and Olivia will continue to lead the dedicated and talented David Austin Roses team, breeding fine roses well into the future.
Our sincere condolences to David’s family, friends and the David Austin Roses team.
Ian and Marilyn, BARB and Roses UK.
Just a few (there are so many) of our favourite English Roses:
Sir David Beckham, The King’s Rose, Boscobel, Eustacia Vye, Wild Eve.

Late July garden floral palette. Our brains evolved to look at plants carefully every day while foraging & become more relaxed while doing so due to the presence of good snacks & medicine. This photo is for those ancient pathways that still exist among your neurons🌿🧠:
