🗞️ Swift has announced it's blockchain based ledger is ready, with 17 global banks preparing to pilot 24/7 tokenised cross border payments.

The pilot includes ANZ, BNP Paribas, BNY, Citi, DBS Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), FirstRand, HSBC, Itaú Unibanco, Lloyds Banking Group, Mashreq, MUFG, OCBC, Standard Chartered, UBS, UOB and Wells Fargo.

By combining distributed ledger technology with Swifts existing global messaging network, the new system aims to:
💧 Enhance liquidity efficiency
💵 Improve cash flow visibility
🔍 Enable seamless token recognition

Swift says this is just the first use case, laying the foundation for future innovations like programmable money and agentic commerce.
