@monitoring11311 aree bhai 120 knots se 80 kaise hojayega, 10-15 knots ka diff aata hai, neeche dekh yeh hai latest wind speed and IMD ke scatterometer se compare kr ab use
1st pic NOAA
2nd pic ISRO/IMD
Mammatus clouds seen in chennai, not that attractive though possibly due to poor lighting as sun currently is overhead (approx)

@monitoring11311 yes i already commented that, but as i said data still is very underestimated by IMD even if it is 3 min, they should update it from 80 knots to higher speed
@monitoring11311 im already going via 3 min, and it is still wrong, no pinhole eye can be produced with cat2/3 storm, its clearly ESCS and if intensification continues it will be Super cyclone(but i think it won't and instead high end ESCS), so 200kmph is reasonable and not IMD's 150 kmph
@monitoring11311 the problem is even if we consider IMD 3 min, it still won't go 80, prob 100-105 knots looks reasonable if you see my other comment, 1 min speed of JTWC will show 115-120 knots, JTWC latest update shows 115 knots, but im looking for IMD 100 knots at least, bt they are still at 80
@monitoring11311@Breaking2003@Indiametdept but latest data shows 117 knots , so even if we consider IMD sustained 3 min speed it won't go from 1117 knots to 80 knots, maybe 100-105 looks reasonable, but 80 is severe underestimation.

https://t.co/oWexz6BfAE( 115 knots acc to live data)
@monitoring11311@Breaking2003@Indiametdept see the wind speed its above 100 knots
https://t.co/Yg70SeaVqU(this shows 115 knots)
while IMD shows 80 knots https://t.co/PdA9bMqjIO
@monitoring11311@Breaking2003@Indiametdept Not only SAR satellite, they use many other satellite products that are open source to cross verify and verification shows both agencies are wrong.
@monitoring11311@Breaking2003@Indiametdept 3 min wind is given by IMD, not by third party and they use SAR satellite to confirm both IMD and JTWC
... all uses same data and both of them are wrong, this is 110 knots+ easily(maybe 120), JTWC puts it near 105 while imd 90. Both are wrong and imd is more wrong.
@monitoring11311@Breaking2003@Indiametdept 3 min still puts it near 90 knots ig, 1 min is well above 105 knots, IMD is still wrong (80 knots) anyways not to mention current pressure is around 950 smthing, while IMD says 974 hPa(last time I checked)
@MatthewCappucci@xavierburnswx@MyRadarWX They're using 3 min avg and not 1 min avg wind speed that explains their underestimation but yeah they're def bit too late for the forecast.
@AgrimUPWX dry air hasn't entered eye though it's still on the outskirts, probably from later tmrw they will affect the intensity. also, dry air always been the case for many BOB cyclones, i remember michaung also suffered from this dry air yet its CDO was huge and it was cat-1, but arnab..
