Tuesday motivation if you are just starting your journey in UK, or you have started and you got stuck, this is my story.
My journey has been defined by two things: God and persistence. I chose to reach for opportunities and reach back for others, never letting a challenge break my spirit. Life demanded I fight for what I deserve, and I did. But don’t mistake this for my finish line; the best version of me is still being written.
Let’s build fun stuff together

Someone messaged me over a year ago that she wants to go into Data Protection/Information Governance.
I advised we start small considering she has no experience. We worked together and we were able to get a “Freedom of Officer” role.
I made her take a course too. She spent a year and 2 months on that role. She learned a lot while earning £29k.
We’ve just gotten a DPO role of £46k after about 15 months since I met her.
That is growth.
If you are feeling down and things don't seem to be working, do this.
Get into a room alone, shut the door and begin to declare God's promises out loud speaking forth his blessings and strength into your life.
Do it until your mood changes and then you would have broken the back of a spirit which was trying to put you in bondage.
Repeat this every time a depressing feeling comes on you and sooner than you think it will be a thing of the past and a new season will be born in your life.
#MondayMotivation
The Commonwealth Games will be happening in Glasgow between July and August 2026. This is honestly good news for students in Glasgow and job seekers in general.
Start looking out for hospitality agencies hiring waiting staff, bartenders, event support staff, and other temporary hospitality roles for the Games.
The last time I did this was during the 2022 Games in Birmingham. I got a temp job and it was genuinely a great experience. Met a lot of people, ate good FOOD(Buffet experience), got paid, and the staff pass gave us free bus and train access within the area while working.
Definitely something worth taking advantage of.
Lmao. My first salary in the UK was 55k and I really thought it was very low before I got in (because I got the job before I moved).
I thought it was really low because of the calibre of people I follow and are friends with, not based on the average pay out here. Didn’t even know much about the average pay before I started applying (maybe that helped).
I have changed my job twice after that.
About 2 years ago, I decided to share more career-related information on Instagram—CV, cover letter, platforms, skills, everything that helped me while talking about my salary too. No kind of DM/comments wey I no receive. Lmao.
People called me a liar. That’s when I knew I’d keep my information in my circle. People don’t like uncomfortable truths.
“Nobody will pay you 55k without UK experience” Okay sir. 🙏
“Show us the payslip, you liar.” No vex ma 🙏
Na me fuck up. My friends and circle know what I earn, and that’s enough for me. Let everyone find their motivation on YouTube.
