I appreciated the use of a concrete representation for the cylinders problem,I feel they are important but often under-represented in high school maths classrooms. To me the feel important in developing or testing their mathematical intuition

Secondly is that when people try problem solving and say it didn’t work it the talk has allowed me some better questions to follow up with is it not enough content knowledge or the or whether it is in the realm of not having the heuristic or metacognitive strategies

But I think I have just provided them as tools to help them them struggle productively rather than unproductively. My thinking needs to be about how I draw more attention to these more regularly

@nomad_penguin Intuitively I think that width wins over height but still wonder whether bight can win when it is close to a square piece of paper, don’t think so but curious

Hi #mtbos, been playing around with the idea of #barbiebungee using weight instead of the number of rubber bands. Used Tinkercad to design a customisable weight harness. Just enter a few values and the file generates itself. Fun but frustrating to design. https://t.co/dvRtYPMqUz
