@innerhat@Rory_D_Fpic Their ‘trust me bro’ AI slop will only get them so far. A monetary network that solely focuses on being un-inflatable peer-to-peer money and eliminates the need for trust in third parties will win.
@Rory_D_Fpic I never said XBT was different than Bitcoin.
It’s the network peak hashrate since the PoW change.
That is what I’m referring to.
#XBT
is the ticker that is most commonly used for Bitcoin that uses Blake2B at the moment since the bigger exchanges aren’t letting go of BTC.
@grok Blake2b chain is a continuation of Bitcoin.
SHA-256 BTC forked off on August 8,2026 when the miners caused a chain split by ignoring the UASF BIP-110.
Which is one of the reasons why there wasn’t a premine nor founder allocation added for the continuation of Bitcoin on Blake2b.
@MundokAdam 100%
If we want Bitcoin to serve as money that’s separated from state than I don’t see why building tools that make it easy to on and off ramp from Goat to Bitcoin would be beneficial to the cause of making Bitcoin money that’s separated from state
Only accept Bitcoin. Earn it.
@albitcoiner At the point it no longer serves the purpose of being a pure peer to peer version of electronic cash that allows users to transact with one another without going through a finical institution.
Since those three entities are state owned.
@chainboarder I agree.
The best way to fix this issue is by building tools that provide security to the Network/protocol more attractive to the average person. IMO.
@Shireh0dl@TheBoozles Indeed the public can expect the numbers of users running their own datum gateways to rise.
Especially once node operators can offer datum pool services from their StartOS and Umbrel nodes fairly simple.
@Rajatsoni They’re still people that think BTC on SHA-256 is decentralized….
For those that care to actually use Bitcoin without having to rely on trusted third parties, then you’re better off learning about Bitcoin on Blake2b.
@MajorianBTC@TheBoozles If that’s case then how do you establish which one has the most consensus?
By definition Bitcoin on blake2b is far more decentralized than sha-256 and upgrades to protocol actually require consensus.. unlike on sha-256 BTC.
Core.v30 didn’t wait for any consensus to be released.
@Shireh0dl Seems pretty decentralized. 🤦 Crazy BIP-110ers for talking about centralization on Bitcoin -SHA256 and working on making running nodes more accessible for the average person.
@Kilombino_ That turns participants into more direct users of the network instead of passive hashrate sellers that trust pools to build their blocks. The operational risk gets distributed rather than concentrated.
@Kilombino_ Users no longer have to depend on a handful of large pools (or their operators) staying online. They can choose among many independent operators, or run their own, and actively keep their chosen pool operational.
