@middle_class_us We also didn’t get starting pay at $40,000 plus. As a college graduate, my starting pay was $23,500/year. It wasn’t until 4-5 years into my career before I got to $40k per year and I was a high performer. We had roommates to afford rent. We didn’t eat out daily or DoorDash.
